Sofitel Tahiti Maeva Beach Resort
Just checked my computer for any photos I still have in “safe keeping” about French Polynesia and look what I found here! I thought I already deleted from my laptop all this French Polynesia stuff back home. I already made back up DVD copies of all those photos so obviously I can free up some space now without losing anything. This photo here would be my last reminder of French Polynesia – the Sofitel Hotel in Tahiti (Sofitel Tahiti Maeva Beach Resort). I stayed over for the night in Sofitel to catch my first leg of three connecting flights to Manila early morning on the following day.
This was my second time at Sofitel. I could not say much on my first because I was totally tired when I got there. The long flight all the way from Manila to Hongkong, then to Sydney and finally to Tahiti totally drained me of my energy. But for the second time, that was when I signed off from the ship back to Manila, well, I have lots of things to say and the exemplary one which until these days still reminds me of Sofitel is the eat-all-you-can dinner at the hotel’s restaurant – Bougainville – International Restaurant. True to its name - Bougainville - International Restaurant - as wide ranging selections of international cuisines are available at the buffet counter. I love food so does everyone and call me a liar if it isn’t true.

The sunny blue skies, the beautiful lagoon enclosed islands and the white sand beaches of French Polynesia are simply too beautiful to resist. Who knows someday I will be visiting French Polynesia again not as crew member of a cruise ship but as a tourist. Wow! That was one wild imagination my mind is contemplating and I can’t believe I would thought of that knowing that the cost of living in French Polynesia is exceedingly high…LOL… Anyway, there is no certainty in this world except for the fact that we are “getting older every second of the day”. Whatever it may be, I believe I have so much of French Polynesia both in my mind and of course in my prized photo collections.
