Four days ago I found myself lurking inside Manila Ocean Park. I finished processing my travel documents just before noon so in the afternoon I was totally free and looked for some “good ways” to let the time pass by. (the time off) I mentioned “good ways” just to clarify what really I was into especially in a city where it is difficult to tell the difference between the worst and the best.
Manila Ocean Park is an amusement park located at the back of Quirino Grand Stand with state-of-the-art aquarium. Manila Ocean Park’s Oceanarium is the first and largest aquarium in the Philippines. The Oceanarium has a 25-meter long underwater tunnel providing visitors 360 degrees view of the variety species of sharks, fishes, stingrays and many other marine inhabitants inside.
I first heard about Manila Ocean Park from another Filipino blogger. I thought he was referring to Underwater World in Singapore because during that time I only knew of one amusement park showcasing marine creatures and that is the Underwater World at Sentosa Island in Singapore. Now, Philippines has its own version of Singapore’s Underwater World. A visit to Manila Ocean Park is very interesting and very educational. Sharks and stingrays were among my top favourites. I am sure my kids would love to see these creatures. Entrance fee ranges from 350 pesos to 400 pesos. The fee may be too high but I considered that amount worth its value. Using my digital camera I captured few still photos as well as short videos of these fishes and sharks to show to my kids. I arrived home yesterday and the first thing I showed to the kids were the photos and videos I took at the Oceanarium. My kids find those videos and photos very interesting especially the twins. As expected, I got hard times answering never ending questions from the twins. As they grew older, I noticed how rapidly their curiosity has become. Anyhow, I am not alone to give them answers; my wife is always on stand by for the rescue…LOL…
