Home  //  Travel  //  Going Around  //  Middle East  //  Black Watch in Port of Salalah, Oman

The ship managed to pass the pirate infested Gulf of Aden safely and without any pirate attack attempts. Well, except for those two suspicious skiffs that approached us near Point A of the International Recommended Transit Corridor but other than that – nada.
Finally we are now alongside at the port of Salalah, a large cargo port in the southern Omani province of Dhofar. There is no cruise terminal in Salalah so the ship berthed alongside cargo terminal for cargo ships. Large container ships and bulk carriers are among the ships in the port and Black Watch is the only cruise ship today.
Ship is leaving Salalah at 3PM bound for Mumbai, India. I had all the charts and passage plan for the next port done so there’s no need for me rushing to the bridge. Anyway, it’s Sunday and I am escaping my overtime at least for today.
