Amenities in the Blue Lagoon include tax-free or duty-free shop, café, changing rooms, shower rooms, restaurant and bar. At the entrance to the lagoon, an individual bracelet that would serve as sort of personal account is provided. The bracelet has some kind of electronic gadget that when swiped into an electronic swipe pad placed in every locker room, an assigned locker number is automatically displayed on the screen. Look for that locker where all your personal stuff and belongings are to be kept. Your assigned locker only opens when you swipe again your bracelet. Blue Lagoon has a bar called Lagoon Bar. It serves guests bathing in the lagoon light refreshments such as drinks, ice cream and fruits. Charges are conveniently credited to your assigned electronic bracelet and to be paid at the exit gate. Oh don’t ever think about running away without paying first because no matter how you swipe the bracelet, the exit gate won’t open unless your bill is settled. Very high-tech, isn’t it? Blue Lagoon has also a shop where lines of Blue Lagoon skin care products, postcards, souvenir items to name a few are sold. If you don’t have Iceland’s local currency, the Iceland Kroner, don’t get panic since the shop also accepts Euro and US dollars.
