There is nothing in the facade and in the interior of Alexandria Passenger Terminal that is foreign, ones you’re inside the building, you will actually feel and see a true Egyptian culture and style into it. The cruise terminal building is really unique and beautiful but it is empty inside - there are no shops like duty free shops or souvenir shops at least. So, for those who really are into getting some Egyptian souvenir items, just go outside the terminal building and just few meters walk there you will find souvenir shops.

Egypt is on the frontpage everywhere and on the news and this what make me curious about seeing the place in real time and in person. Obviously, when the ship arrived I really wanted to go ashore just to have a glimpse of the bustling city of Alexandria, one of Egypt’s major ports.

I thought I would leave the ship right after the drill with my camera. That was my plan but I did not stick to it. I am not confident roaming around the city alone. The situation across Egypt is unpredictable and events can develop quickly. I still went out from the ship but only within the cruise terminal premises.

Egypt’s tourism industry is among those greatly affected as a result of that political chaos but I think tourism in Egypt is now slowly gaining back to its tourism footholds. All the ship organized tours went well and everyone on the tour came back onboard safe.
