After that fantastic crossing through the Panama Canal, the ship headed towards Carti Island, one of the islands of San Blas archipelago along the northern shore of Panama. These islands are popular stopover for cruise ships leaving or entering the Panama Canal. San Blas islands are inhabited by the fiercely independent native settlers, the Kuna Indians. Kuna Indians over the years guarded their cultural identity, shun tourism development and passionately maintained their customs and culture, language, legends, music and dance. Photo taken at exactly 18:12:10 (21:12:10 GMT) at Lat. 18 deg. 17.8 min South , Long. 038 deg. 11.3 min. West just few minutes before the sun totally sets and charmingly vanished from the horizon. This sunset doesn’t always come into view as beautiful and as romantic as this.

This is the ghostly shipwreck of the Greek freighter Capitan Leonidas taken on February 10, 2011. I am not sure if the wreck is visible in Google Earth but you may try visiting these coordinates:
Latitude 48 degrees 45.27 minutes South and Longitude 074 degrees 25.15 minutes West.

I’ve seen her in the movie though is not really her but Madonna portraying her character. Absolutely no chance for me to see her in person – I was born too late to see in the news (magazines, newspapers and TV) this woman of great determination who managed her way out from simple living to becoming one of Argentina’s A list. I am talking about Eva Duarte Perón, Argentina’s most remembered influential political figure. As a result of her social welfare work for the underprivileged, she was known to the working class or to the masses as Evita.

A jail or detention center from the past, now a present day hub for tourists. This is Casa Da Cultura, a mandatory stop for all tourists arriving or visiting Recife (this explains why Casa Da Cultura is the pick up and drop off point for the complimentary shuttle buses to and from the ship). Recife is a seaport and one of Brazil’s biggest cities. Because of its plenty waterways, Recife is also dubbed as the Venice of America.
