Following the tragic news of the Air France plane that plunged into the sea somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, was another dreadful aviation incident involving a Yemeni jet. When I first read this tragic news from the ship’s onboard news publication, one thing instantly rolled up in my mind - the many uncertainties in life. We may just be well and doing fine in a particular time and in a split second…boom…we’re on another dimension. It’s awful to think this way but this is the truth about our existence. Two successive plane crashes in just a matter of month or so have claimed hundreds of lives including two Filipino nationals, a seafarer (just like me) on board the Air France jet and a flight attendant serving Yemenia Airways. These incidents triggered my mind to question the level of safety on aircrafts though the exact causes of these two crashes are not known yet but speculations were pointed on weather conditions.

While surfing the internet last night, I came up reading this blog, Adventures of a Beauty Queen, where the author posted a blog highlighting Camille Lou Libron, the Filipina flight attendant aboard the Yemeni jet . For the first time, I saw the charming and fine looks of this young lady at the peak of realizing here dreams. As I look at the photos, for me she looks more as a girl rather than a lady. Her smile says it all and so sad that her family and friends and to everyone who knew here would not be able to see that smile any longer. I just hope that the owner of the blog where I took this photo won’t rebuke me for stealing this photo. Reading on the blog, I found out that there was an error with the reports that circulated worldwide. Camille Lou Libron is still single at the age of 26 contrary to the reports that she was married to a Yemeni national, Jana Khalid. In fact, Jana Khalid, is a lady who works at the Yemenia Airways office. I think the press should tackle into this matter very seriously to correct the erroneous report. So far, as of posting, there was only one confirmed survivor of the plane crash – a 14-year old girl who is now confined in a hospital in Comoros Island.
