I grew up in Mindanao, dubbed (unofficially) as the “Philippines’ food basket” and indeed a wonder of eco-tourism destination. I am a person who can't stand living in the city but likes best the unhurried countryside life in the province of Lanao del Norte, the home of the famous Maria Cristina Falls and Lake Lanao.
Keeping a travel blog is a pastime I enjoy to fill in the gaps between work and free time. I blog with my own rules not to deceive my readers, so I make sure that everything I posted here are based on actuality and not with sugar-coated words. I blog about anything and everything that has something to do with my travels as a sailor, the thrills and adventures that comes along the way and the unknown.
I have keen interest in digital photography. Honestly, having a good camera at hand though it should not be the best one (it all depends on how much you spend to something you like), is a good thing to consider. I started with a point-and-shoot digital camera, the most affordable way to start with and that was what I can afford during those days, before I made up my mind to an ambitious upgrade to SLR. To see some of my photo collections you may visit Image Theory.
I started traveling to other places with my grandma since I was a kid but I have no idea back then that I would be trotting around the globe. My first travel outside Philippines was in 1998 when I was a crew member on a container ship, M/V Uni-Wisdom, plying routes between Taiwan and the Philippines. Then in 2002, I moved to a Singapore based shipping company operating casino ships in Singapore and Malaysia area, onboard M/S Amusement World and M/S Leisure World. In 2007, I was given a break to work on the luxurious cruise ship, the M/S Paul Gauguin – thanks to Capt. Toni. The ship operates most of the time in a year around the islands of French Polynesia and not so often to other islands in the South Pacific to include Cook Islands, Fiji Islands, Tonga Islands. It was in 2009 that my chance to see further of the world’s frontier turned up and that was when I started working onboard the cruise ship sailing anywhere and everywhere around the globe, the Black Watch.
