Travelog: Invergordon

Travelog: Invergordon
Appreciating the town's simple yet swanky views, I realized how relaxing it was walking around the streets of Invergordon - free from honking of horns and from those irksome noise of revving car engines.

On approach the port town from sea, you will find Invergordon dominated with beautiful scenery of green hillsides and nice little houses along the coast. When you get off from the ship and spend some time ashore, you will simply be captivated with the colorful life-size murals on several of the town's buildings. These murals simply make walking around the town a lot more engaging. I simply can't afford to walk past all these murals without even noticing it, stopped for a while and took some nice selfies. Each mural depicts some memorable events in the history of the town. If these wall paintings here in Invergordon are just some kind of vandalism, then I would say these were the most artistic one.

Seaman's Center Invergordon
Wandering around the town, I ended up on a place where most seafarers go while in the port of Invergordon - The Church of England. Here seafarers enjoy WiFi internet access absolutely for free. At first look, it would not appear as the most likely place seafarers would go in the first place - well, at least for some. The Church of England here in Invergordon hosts the Seamen's Center. In addition to free internet access, the center also sells phone cards. The place also offers ship crew members free biscuits, coffee and tea.

Under the overshadowing skies that day, Invergordon was filled with action but not that kind of day to day scene typical in big cities - locals greeting each other with a simple 'hi' and 'hello', friends casually chatting along the streets, schoolchildren on their way to school and tourists with cameras wandering around to mention a few.

With souvenir and gift shops, grocery stores, few cafes and small restaurants, this little Scottish town is not a boring place to visit and be around, it simply has the perks visitors can enjoy whilst visiting a small and quiet town.
